Kite Surfing Delights

KITE SURFERS YOUNG & OLD

Young and old kite surfers hit the beaches now in Mozambique to test their skills in winds they don’t know and on seas they have never before seen. Kite surfers get to observe the many sea creatures swimming near them, birds flying by and coral reefs far below.

KITE SURFERS NEW & PRO

From Bazaruto and Benguerra Islands to Magaruque and Santa Carolina Islands, beginners can start in shallow sheltered bays while the more experienced kite surfers should try more hectic down winders. It’s the erratic tides, calm glassy solitary waters and occasional 20 knot winds that decide when kite surfers go out!

SURF THE BEST SPOTS

Hire equipment and surf at some of the best spots in the Bazaruto Archipelago: Death Island, Banque Island, South Point Benguerra Island, North Point Benguerra Island and Magaruque Island. Kite sizes range from 9 metres to 14 metres for the winter windy months when the south-easter blows. The north-easter blows in summer. Kite surfers can try out a power kite if that suits their fancy and level of experience.

COURSES ARE AVAILABLE!

Kite surfing courses start with level 1 – to understand the area’s natural conditions, safety procedures, launching and control. Level 2 is about body drag, water starting and riding the sea. Level 3 includes riding upwind and doing first jumps. All materials are provided as well as helmets.
